Self-Surveys

The self-surveys in myStrategic Compass encourage people to view occupational exploration and choice as a dynamic process and one that can be viewed through a variety of lenses. All myStrategic Compass surveys are integrated into the curriculum for middle and high school users. Most offer a Spanish translation that can be accessed by clicking the language dropdown menu in the top right corner of the screen.  All surveys are accessed through the Self-Surveys tab on the homepage. Select a survey below to learn more.

​Career Cluster Inventory Quick Pic

CCI Quick Pic uses pictures to help your learner think about activities they like. Quick and easy, after the learner rates their interests they are matched to career clusters. This can help them find a career they will enjoy! 

Instructions: 
  • Time to complete: about 5 to 10 minutes
  • Number of items: 48
  • Each statement describes a different activity
  • For each activity take time to imagine doing it
  • Rate how much you would like or dislike each activity

​Career Cluster Inventory

The Career Cluster Inventory helps your learners think about activities that they like and matches them to career clusters. Learning more about their interests and how they fit with clusters is one way to find a career they will enjoy!

Instructions:
  • Time to complete: about 5 to 10 minutes

  • Each statement describes a different activity
  • For each activity take time to imagine doing it
  • Rate how much you like or dislike each activity

​Entrepreneurial Assessment

Entrepreneurs use their talents in many ways. Successful entrepreneurs share common traits. The Entrepreneurial Assessment can help your learners decide if self-employment is a good match for them.

Instructions:

  • Each statement describes qualities that entrepreneurs share
  • Rate how much you agree with each statement

The Interest Profiler helps your learners identify their interests and how they relate to careers they may want to explore. Connecting interests to careers is one way to find a career they will enjoy!

Instructions:

  • Rate how much you like or dislike the activity

    ​Learning Styles Survey

    This short survey can help your learners identify the ways they learn best. Knowing more about their learning style will make them a more effective learner. They will also get study tips for their learning style.

    Instructions:

    ​Occupation Sort

    Occupation Sort lets your learners rate their likes and dislikes. It creates a list of careers based on factors that are important to them. Occupation Sort factors are things like wages, work with hands and travel. Finding a career that is a good match for the learner's preferences is one way to find a career that they will enjoy!

    Instructions:
    • Time to complete: about 10 to 15 minutes
    • Number of items: varies, depending on your factors selected
    • Select factors that are important to you
    • Rank how important each factor is to you
    • Choose the level of each factor you want in a career

    ​Reality Check

    How much money will your learners need to support their lifestyle? Expenses for rent, car payments, food, and clothes add up quickly. Learners will find out how much money they'll need to cover those expenses. What careers match their financial needs? Have them take a Reality Check to find out!

    The Workplace Employability Skills Self-Survey can help your learners evaluate their employability skills. Employability skills are things like professionalism, collaboration, and ethical practices. These are skills that employers look for when hiring.

      Work Importance Locator helps your learners find careers that match their work values. Work values are things like achievement, work environment, and work relationships. Working in a place that matches their values will make their career more satisfying.
